FAQs: Supplying Artwork
for Promotional Products

Art Specifications

Our established practice is to provide design guidelines and suggestions during the initial discussion of any promotional project. This process aids in preventing situations where designs finalized without our input end up being incompatible with the desired product, and require major revisions. This is especially important in lenticular products.

Art specifications vary with the product and desired decoration technique. In most cases, the required standard is a vector graphic (Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop EPS), resolution of at least 300 dpi, and all fonts converted to outlines.

As a general rule, we cannot use bitmap files (JPEGs, GIFs, e-mail or web graphics), Microsoft PowerPoint files, or clip art. If you need conversion services, we can have your art converted to a proper format (fees and restrictions apply).

Lenticular Art Specifications

Lenticulars require a layered Adobe Photoshop file, with layers unlocked and editable and fonts included or font layers rasterized. There are additional specifications depending on the design — e.g. 3D designs have to be layered a certain way, and have bleeds. (See our Lenticular Art Design Guidelines for more.) Please contact us via email or call 703.521.4843 for additional information.

Sending Files

Once the design is finalized, it can be sent to us in several ways. We accept files under 3 MB via e-mail. For larger files, we will provide you with instructions for uploading them via FTP, or you can send them on a recordable CD or DVD.

Proofs

Standard practice is to provide an Adobe PDF electronic proof for all new orders. (You can get the latest version of Adobe Reader for viewing PDFs at www.adobe.com.) In some cases creating this proof may incur an additional charge, which will be noted on the order confirmation form. We normally do not provide proofs on exact reorders unless requested.

Art File Archives

Most of our production facilities keep art on file for up to one year. Reorders placed after more than a year may require new copies of your files, so please backup and safeguard your copies.
